Parental Involvement

STRIDE Academy believes that family/school relationships are imperative for student success.  Beyond the required covenant meeting, parents will also be asked, and encouraged, to commit 30 hours of volunteer time throughout the year.  Volunteer hours will be used for a variety of activities, including classroom supervision, office support, fundraising, etc.

Our hope by having parental volunteering is that students will do better in school, parents will be more in tune as to what their children are doing in school, and our school curriculum will improve with parental involvement.  While volunteer time is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged, and vital to your student's academic success.

Along with volunteering time, we also encourage parents and families to contribute ideas or suggestions for classroom activities that can be offered during intercessions.

We believe that aligning families and school will benefit students, families, teachers, and the greater community.

Remember that the earlier in a student's education process a parent gets involved, the more powerful the effects.

Learn more about other ways to get involved in your student's education by attending PATHS meetings.  Contact our volunteer coordinator Cameo DeDomines at 230.5340.

STRIDE 5K Volunteers Needed
This is a friendly reminder that STRIDE asks all families to volunteer 30 hours of time to the school. If you haven’t been able to volunteer this year, we have a great opportunity for you. STRIDE will need 30 volunteers for the STRIDE 5K. Please contact: Jason Fleege; Jfleege@strideacademy.org

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Making copies for classroom teachers ~ 1-2 hours per week during the day

Thursday Folder helpers:

Both schools need help each Wednesday to make copies and stuff the Thursday folders.

Volunteer Background Form

In order to volunteer for field trips and things, you will need to have completed and turned in the STRIDE Volunteer Background Form.  You can either have your student turn in the completed form to the school office or you can email the form to Dawn Towle.

What can parents do today?

  • Show an interest in school policies and help their children understand them

  • Participate in school functions for fun and educational purposes

  • Provide a home where education is important, thus providing those high expectations so needed by students, especially those at risk

  • Volunteer in the school as often as possible.
